About our facility

We wanted kennelling that would be safe, secure and spacious. Therefore we chose a perfect garden and then put up fencing which is tall enough so that our guests can’t escape by trying to jump over.

We also went one step further and buried the fence in concrete, so that they can’t dig their way out. The enclosure is extremely strong which means that the dogs cannot chew through it.

We have six kennels (Approx. 40m²) with an indoor cabin area (1,8m X 1,8m), an under-roof area and a grassed area. Our facilities make it possible for us to give each dog the attention they need as well as mental and physical stimulation.

Our cabin areas are all fitted with a night-light, comfortable bed and are heated in winter.

Our routine

  • Our methods best insure that each pet has a quiet, pleasant stay with lots of loving, and special care.
  • There will also be daily walks and a little bit of training.
  • Lots of visits and attention.
  • We have an agility course for those more active ones.
  • There are numerous other activities that we do to keep the dogs stimulated and involved.
  • Toys in the kennels will keep them from getting bored and frustrated.

Hygiene and Health

  • The boarding areas are paved and cleaned daily with disinfectant to make sure that there are no germs. This is also done each time a dog fouls this area.
  • The runs are cleaned 3 times a day. After each guest’s stay, the kennel is cleaned with high pressure hoses and is disinfected to ensure a clean and hygienic stay for the next guest.
  • We insist on:
    • all dogs being treated with tick & flea control as well as being de-wormed prior to checking in.
    • all dogs being vaccinated against Kennel Cough at least 2 weeks before checking in.
    • all general vaccinations being up to date (vaccination cards to be submitted).
  • Special frail care can be provided with prior arrangement at quoted rates (depends on specific requirements of each case).

Food & Meals

  • Our kennelling facility does not supply dog meals and request that you please provide such. This is so that we do not have to change your dog’s diet and let him get adjusted to a new food. It takes at least a week for a dog’s stomach to settle on his new food and there is no need to be upsetting his stomach with a change of food.
  • We feed your dogs the exact same way that you would at home (same times, wet or dry, with or without medication).

The Owners

  • We are genuine animal lovers, and nothing is more important to us than your dogs’ health, happiness and well-being.
  • Lizelle is co-owner of the Limpopo K9 Academy and have successfully completed two instructor’s courses at the South African Dog Training College and attended several dog training seminars.
